1st Annual Citywide Pub Crawl/Ride for Education on June 13th, 2009

Following a 5K located in the Lower Highland neighborhood that is FREE for all students 12 and Under with registered adult.

 

WHO: The LoHi Annual Team

 

WHAT: A Citywide all day shopping event and pub crawl/ride for education starting at 12 noon. This day is designed to celebrate our neighborhoods while raising funds for Denver’s elementary schools that are most in need.

 

This event will benefit a DPS wide literacy program One Word, One Love who supports our teachers and their curriculum; also benefiting this year will be Maria Sandoval Elementary, Valdez Elem., Bryant-Webster K-8, and Escuela de Guadalupe located in the North Denver Lower Highlands area. 

 

WHEN: June 13th 2009 – 1st Annual LoHi 5K event starts at 8am, pre-registration and sign in at 7am, 32nd and Zuni.  Citywide all day Shopping and Pub Crawl/Ride for Education event starts at Noon and lasts until the sponsoring businesses close and. 

 

WHERE: 5K located in Lower Highland area, 32nd and Zuni, Pub Crawl/Ride is Citywide – 9 Denver neighborhoods are slated to participate including:  Uptown, Cherry Creek, LoDo, Highland, Union Station, Lincoln/Broadway, 16th St. Mall, and Colfax.   

 

WHY: We are hosting this event to help support our elementary schools that are most in need, and those who support them.  This is a first of its kind event for Denver and will hopefully set a standard for all other events in our city from here on.  15% of the sponsoring businesses revenues on June 13th will go to four elementary schools in the Lower Highland area and a citywide literacy program called One Word, One Love which supports our teachers and their curriculum.
